Claire Mabey and Andrew Laking

In the artists' words. Andrew Laking (musician): I will be working on a new suite of music with a focus on low frequencies & beat acoustics. Planned instrumentation will be double bass, bass clarinet, low drums, synth & tuba. I will also start work on a prototype for a large-scale light installation.

I am working on the second draft of the first novel in a trilogy (middle grade, fiction). I hope to finish the draft while on this residency. I'm also going to be reading for research for a thematic non-fiction collection of essays around Sylvia Townsend Warner.

Charlie (their son Charlie Laking, multi disciplinary artist aged 4) tells us he'll be working on some drawings and also on a new song for his band (called Death Pit).
